Description

Netspectre is a cyberpunk hacking roguelike in which you take on the role of a hacker-for-hire in a ruthless megacity of the future. Fulfill contracts by infiltrating procedurally-generated networks, use the money to upgrade your specialised hacking rig, and prepare for the one last run that could change everything.

Each playthrough challenges your logical thinking, tactical instincts, and ability to execute under pressure. Breach barriers, exploit weaknesses, and reach the target before the trace cuts you out. Navigate the city's markets, optimise your components, or just hang with the other misfits and enjoy the skyline.

Features

Reach your target

Each procedurally-generated network presents a unique challenge in how to best sequence your moves, manage your resources, evaluate your information, and decide which risks to take.

Evade the trace

You usually have time to think things through, but the traces by the network security also often put you under real-time pressure, challenging your ability to think on your feet.

Build your own rig

Combine kernels, memcards, chips, and modules into a robust toolkit prepared for all situations that you might encounter in the cyberspace, in your own style.

Make your mark

While the stakes start low by you mostly just trying to stay alive in the ruthless jungle of the city, they quickly escalate to life-changing heists and discoveries that might change the world forever.

Make the game unfold

Learn something new about the Netspectre mechanics or its universe in every playthrough, whether by unlocking new assets for the market or articles in the codex of your knowledge of the world.

Suit yourself

Customise each playthrough to suit your current time and skills by choosing between storylines of different lengths and also unlocking progressively harder difficulties.

Netspectre is currently in development. A demo is available right now on Steam, for the duration of the Steam Cyberpunk Fest.
